Multiples: Plaster Moulding Part 2

So finally got to finishing my plaster mould and doing the messy fun part. My clay model was all finished and smoothed down so it was time to put a wall using bendy metal stuff this creates two half moulds. Once thats done its time to don a boiler suit and some fashionable college boots and make up the plaster. Start by chucking the plaster at the clay making sure theres no gaps and no air bubbles getting a thing layer of plaster. he rest of the plaster will stick to this first layer getting thicker until you can just pour and smoothe it on like melty ice cream.

one half of the mould done
Once dry you have to scrape away a bit of clay to see your bits of metal and pull them out with pliers, once this is done you can run it under the tap which makes the clay expand a bit and the two halfs come away from each other.

pulling out the little bits of metal can be tough

at the end you still have your mostly intact clay
